Since 1991, Source Capital, Ltd. has represented
Hammel Companies on various matters related to growing its businesses
(finance and acquisitions), and inter-generational business transfer
and shareholder liquidity. The Company, through its two primary
operating subsidiaries, Pitt Ohio Express and ECM Transport, LLC,
is in the less-than-truckload and truckload transportation and logistics
businesses. It also has developed proprietary information technology
(for supply chain tracking and reporting purposes) and load
balancing software, which optimizes transfer routes, assets
and equipment. Over the years the Hammel Companies have grown organically
and through acquisitions of terminals and operating businesses,
with revenue and free cash flow increasing significantly during
the time of Sources involvement.
The business was originally owned among six siblings,
five of whom have been able to cash-out of their shares over the
past several years, which now leaves Chuck Hammel, the Companys
Chairman and CEO, as the sole owner.
With the shareholder buyouts now completed, the
Company is able to refocus on its new growth strategy, which Source
has assisted in developing and with which Source will be involved
in the implementation.
Since 1982, Source Capital, Ltd. has assisted family-owned,
middle market companies with growth advisory, corporate finance
and shareholder liquidity services. We have considerable experience
with companies involved with transportation, warehousing and distribution,
logistics and supply chain management. Source offers an integrated
approach to addressing issues and implementing solutions involving
growth strategy and company capitalization for principal owners
of family-owned and closely held businesses.
